Do your own rebirthing for free !
You read that right, the original ReBirth software
now runs on WIN XP/Vista/7/8/10/11 and with Wine
& PlayonMac for Mac and more. You do need to
download the CD & a separate X64 installation tool
and follow the instructions on the ReBirth website.
There is also an instruction video on top of the site.
I stared with Rebirth makeing Acid and over time,
I've downloaded quite a bit of ReBirth data,
including many MODs.
I haven't even been able to find everything, and I'm actually
still looking for more MODs. But it is still enough to make this site work well.
A big advantage is that ReBirth uses little data and runs on almost any system.
So as standalone, you can do your own acid test and find out your tunes.
What makes ReBirth unique is that it is a package with drums and 303 (2x), which
gives you an immediate idea of how your tunes sounds, without a DAW. Rebirth can
also used as VST plugin with Rewire (X64) and is still one of the best 303 plugins.
And ReBirth does have its own unique sound. Older versions of Reason
(up to version 10) supporting ReBirth with an ReBirth input machine. Who ReBirth
sync to Reason, and also route the ReBirth audio tracks into Reason. With newer
Reason versions, syncing is possible using ReWire (X64) or other midi-sync software.
Nowadays I still use ReBirth as a sequencer for my tracks and With ReMaker I convert
the ReBirth songs. As .mid file load them in my DAW, to control my analog hardware.

Acid Machine 2 (free) has a nice acid sound and can load Rebirth & ABL3 patterns, but sadly not the Rebirth songs.
It is also available as software, but it is clearly not yet fully developed. It might be a good attempt at a ReBirth update.

Unfortunately, many 303 plugins are no longer traceable. There are always some old freeware plugins available online, but demos and paid versions simply disappear. It's a shame they not offer those versions as freeware.
When I started this collection, I couldn't have imagined that there would be
so much software out there based on our TB.
It is a selection, but in the end, it is all about the sound and which one matches the original 303 hardware.
A few stood out, such as the BL-303, for its beautiful sound, the Arturia - Acid V (<), Transistor Bass (>), ABL3, TB Strip, JC-303, ReBirth, etc. In general, I think the sound is good and the sequencers are often of good quality, especially among the more expensive software.
One of the best emulation software is the Transistor Bass, all most the same sound as the TB (see 303 software YT-playlist)
there is only two problems,
it is a little expensive (70 euro) and only for FL studio. But if you are already working with FL-Studio, it is a must have !
The second software synthesiser who made people on the web enthusiastic, is the ABL3, the newest version of the ABL2. The same goes for D16 - Phoscyon V2 & Arturia - Acid V.
But all these 303 software cost money, there not free. Those expensive packages also have many
extra options for to manipulate the 303 sequencer & sound.
And oh yes, don't forget to try the BL-303, it sounded really nice.
So as a starter, it might be best to start with a free version, such as Rebirth (x64) or other freeware, to get into the 303 mood.
You can get a long way with freeware, but you might switch to BuyWare.
Like there Roland cloud, while the firm Roland forcibly banned Rebirth on the Ipad & Iphone at its height.
But they are still the parents of the TB & TR. They get good reviews, but I think it will not be cheap, but good.
There is a lot of 303 software out there, and maybe a few are still missing. If you know of any other 303 software
